Elective admissions
The Department of Aberdeen Clinical Urology is a tertiary referral centre for the North of Scotland including the Highlands, and Orkney and Shetland islands.
The department has 25 inpatient beds for elective and emergency admissions, 10 short-stay beds and 12 day-case beds for elective cases. The unit provides a comprehensive elective urological surgery service, including robotic, laparoscopic and open surgery for prostate, kidney and bladder cancer; surgery for penile cancer and testicular cancer; surgery for benign prostatic diseases; endourological surgery for kidney and ureteric stone disease; surgery and procedures for male and female incontinence; upper tract and lower tract reconstructive surgery (including pyeloplasty and urethral and bladder reconstructions); surgery and procedures for urological infections; and andrology surgery.
